We've had many great ideas for the upcoming 2008 Training schedule, the following are some planned events:

Blind Work - 2 times per month followed by marks. Open to all ages of dogs however dogs younger than 10 months old are probably not ready for this. But feel free to show up if you have a younger dog and want to learn how to get your dog ready to run blinds. Blind concepts will start out as simple blind work, how to run your dog on a blind to more complex blinds with greater influencing factors.

Marks - 2 times per month. Open to dogs of all levels. Concepts will range from simple single marks to more complex marking drills. Training will be dedicated to concepts, introducing more complex factors and not testing.

Mock Hunt Tests - 3 times per year. Club sponsored mock hunt tests will be set up and run.

"Shot Flyers" training day. Ever wanted to run a shot flyer with your dog? Here's your opportunity, we will have in order shot flyers, out of order shot flyers and basic introduction to shot flyers for younger dogs. See the influencing factors of shot flyers. While you don't see a whole lot of shot flyers in HRC events they are very common in AKC hunt tests and you just never know when you may run across this in a test. There will be a cost for birds, more details to come.

Force Fetch Session- Introduction on how to properly force fetch your dog. More details to come about this.

Obdience Session- learn proper dog etiquette, holding blind manners, dog to the line drills, proper healing for your dog. More details to come about this.

Upland Training - Upland tests are becoming very popular and many of our members are now running upland tests as well as regular tests. We will try to have some upland training days in January, February and March 2008. Stop back for more details on Upland training days.
